Pontypool Chess Club
Welcome to Pontypool Chess Club!
We are an active and friendly club, with members from ages 8 to 80+. New members and visitors are always welcome, regardless of chess ability. We cater for experienced players as well as beginners. Beginners should visit our pages on The Rules Of The Game, and The Game.
We meet at 7pm every Wednesday at Panteg House Sports and Social Club, Panteg House, Greenhill Road, Griffithstown. The club is open every week of the year, except Christmas and New Year.
We enter teams in both divisions of the Gwent Chess Association league, and also in the Welsh Knockout cup competitions (we are the current holders of the Under 1500 cup). Fixtures can be found on The Calendar page, and match results and other news will be updated on the Latest News page.
