All eyes are on model Rachel Rice, from St Dials in Cwmbran, who has been selected from over100 hopefuls to compete for the regional title of Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2007.
Rachel will join 11 other South Wales finalists aged 16-30 at competition's semi-final on August 8 at Specsavers on Queen Street, Cardiff.
There one Welsh finalist will be selected to go to London on Tuesday, October 9, where they'll battle it out for the national title of Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2007.
The star-studded Grand Final will take place at London's Waldorf Hilton Hotel, where contestants will be judged by a panel of industry experts and celebrity model Kimberly Stewart.
The lucky winner will walk away with a one-year modelling contract with top London agency MOT models, an all-inclusive premium holiday for two people to St Lucia or Barbados, courtesy of The Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays, £200 worth of hair and beauty products from Matrix and The Body Shop and a Specsavers eyecare voucher worth £150.
Rachel said: "I am really excited to have been chosen to go through to the semi-finals, it was great to find out I'd been shortlisted.
It's such a fantastic opportunity and to go on to win the modelling contract and the holiday would be amazing!
