Land of My Fathers Poetry Club

When will it stop

When will it stop
This pain I feel in my heart
When will I come to terms
With the need for us to part
The sad realisation that I was not the one for you
After all the forgiving and forgetting
You still want someone new
I have searched inside myself
Of why it all went wrong
Of why I wasn't the one
That you wanted to belong
There is something you desire
That I wasn't able to give
The excitement of the chase
You always wanted to relive
But now that it is over
This love that we both have shared
Will you ever regret
that the cracks could not be repaired
Will there even be just one thing
That you will miss of me
Will you ever lie alone in your bed
And wish I was there and you could see
The love in my eyes that burned so strong
When we first got together
Before it all went wrong
When we truly believed
We would be together forever
You and me were so right
This wouldn't happen not ever
Or will you walk away
and thank god its at an end
And know from now on
You will not have to pretend
To love me and want me
You can now be free
But will it make you happy
Only time will see
