What a Night

Oh not the alarm so soon
And is that the sun?
I had hoped it was the moon
Feels like I've just got into bed
Oh who are these gremlins
messing inside my head
My eyes are sore
my throat is dry
My head is banging
as on this pillow I lie
I'll need Asprin
and a drink I know
Before these symptoms
start to go
But I'll drag myself up
and fall into the shower
Just hoping the water
will give me the power
To struggle to work
and face the day
For if I stay here in bed
I'll lose my pay
But for the pain and discomfort
I'll have to resign
Self inflicted punishment
for knocking back
too much red wine!
