Land of My Fathers Poetry Club

Social Space

One bedroom flat
Wired, telephoned, talking machined, CDed, VCded
Coolered, micro ovened, faxmachined
cameramobiled, interneted all within
Barbies, donald ducks, teddies
Embellished with embroideries, marble
Decorated with synthetic plants, flowers, fruits
Little space left for dining, resting, chatting
Humans have no space to express their inner
urges, melancholies and squagmires
The world has become so infinitesimal a
place, so piffling, so pettifoggy
Some where in time commodities have replaced man
And transformed him too, into a commodity with life
But unfortunately he himself finds no space at home
And saunters vagabondly in the wilderness
Of life, left all alone like a noble savage
