Land of My Fathers Poetry Club

Before you Landed

Its not as if ... I didnt warn you
I could have caught you before you landed
Mistaken with the ties that bound you
The wings around you and falling stranded

Its not as if ... I didnt want you
I only loved you ... just empty handed
Full faith and with the world around you
I could have caught you before you landed

Sold on your skin, to make it better
And never better than when your shining
Something within was coming over
And its all over at the beginning

You told me nothing, I hadnt seen through
I could have been you ... and of the making
Its not as if I didnt warn you
But not I've come through and now I'm taking
