Abersychan and Garndiffaith Local History Group

Welcome to the Abersychan and Garndiffaith Local History Group

Abersychan & Garndiffaith Local History Group was formed in 1994 following a public meeting.

Since that time to the present, our group has held monthly meetings with speakers on various aspects of local history, recorded aspects of local history which otherwise would have been lost, publishing them in a series of small, inexpensive journals, and these activities provide a source for present and future generations. Some of the articles are shown on this site under Journals.

We have also provided illustrated talks for local organisations, as well as an extensive and successful projects with local schools.

Our biennial open days - on second Saturday in September - are always well attended and appreciated by residents.

We have not succeeded in obtaining our own building in which to house donations and store material donated by residents. We are working on this aim. People from faraway places with connections to our area are invited to contact us for information, and if they have any old photos or documents they can copy and send then we would be grateful.

We will develop this site according to feed back and hope you find it helpful.
