Image of the St Albans Church PulpitBuilt in 1844-46 in an economical version of the then fashionable Norman style, to the design of J. J. Coles, the prolific Catholic architect.

 

It is built of squared coarse brown limestone rubble with a Welsh slate roof. The church is aligned North West / South East; Neo Norman style with a nave, aspe sanctuary, North East entrance porch, six bay nave with each bay framed by plaster pilasters and containing a small single light arched window. These are modern three framed panes.

The Church features an early 20th Century gabled dormer with lattice casement over the doorway. The aspe has five windows with pilasters between a conical roof.

 

The Church was refurbished in 1958 and on August 28th 1997 became a listed building by the Secretary of State for Wales under Section 1.
