Re-enactment WW2 SWB

Uniform & Equipment

These pages show you the full kit a Normal Tommy Soldier would have worn on D-Day.

But once he landed on D-Day he would have thrown some of it away,he might have lost it on the beach or took it off in the sea, many soldiers died to the weight of the kit in the sea.

Also as he battled on through Europe, he often would have picked up German equipment eg weapons cloths etc.

I will try and advise you if the photo is of a Original WW2 item, if it is repro or if it is captured equipment.

You may think why have i put a picture of a Shovel on FIRST the reason being we are well known in the Re-enactment world for the group who always wear shovels and picks.

Here is a picture of a original 1943 Shovel

All blouses should have a white label on them with the size of the blouse, who the maker was and also what date the blouse was made.

The reason why we wear a lot of repro is because the original kit is now 60 year old and when we are battling we do not want to damage or ripe it.

We do wear original kit, but normal at walking out dinners, dances or group photos.
