Gill Powell began painting from a very early age using the medium of oils to capture still life images.
Gill has always used
the Visual Arts as a source of pleasure, inspiration, motivation and a way of relaxation.
She has painted Scenery for plays, murals for nurseries and portraits of adults and children.
Gill is particularly interested in the human form. The play of light on the face and figure and capturing a moment in time with a minimalistic line to produce a powerful image. She uses bold colours to depict emotions present in the body and especially likes using inks to give the paintings a luminous quality.
Gill attends craft fairs and local shows where she does quick pen and ink portraits and caricatures of the public for a nominal fee.
Gill is available for freelance work, commissions and parties.
