Footballer Robbie Savage may not be playing for his country but he's got the next best job - helping to pick the new Miss Wales!
Thirty of the nation's brightest and most beautiful young women will parade before the 31-year-old blond midfielder when he takes his place on the judging panel for the June 9 final.
The girls will be judged on their looks and personality in their bid to be crowned Miss Wales 2006, with the winner going on to represent us at the Miss World final in Poland.
The Welsh football star, who hails from Wrexham and plays for Blackburn Rovers, is the first of the judging panel to be named. Sponsored by Vibe Models, Miss Wales 2006 will take place at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff.
In addition to winning an all expenses paid trip to the international showdown, Miss Wales will also be given a year's modelling contract with Vibe Models.
Clare Birt, Miss Wales organiser, said: "To have such an outstanding Welsh sportsman on our judging panel is an honour and we're looking forward to working with Robbie."
Current Miss Wales Claire Evans will host a charity ball on June 8, the last night of her reign, at the Holland House Hotel in Cardiff in aid of Save The Children.
