Join the local gym. That way you can still eat the Christmas goodies without feeling the guilt that comes with it. Get someone to join with you that way you can both help each other to make the effort to get there.
November
Don't give in to seasonal depression. When you are depressed you are more likely to reach for the biscuit tin. If you are feeling down watch a good weepy movie like Brief Encounter or What Dreams May Come. This gives you a good excuse to have a good cry and get it out of your system, then start planning for Christmas or some other festival, it really will cheer you up.
October
Put the U back into community by becomming involved in the community groups that are in your area. You will find that you are less likely to binge or comfort eat when you have lots of things to keep your mind off food.

Start of the new school term so take an interest in the new Healthy eating plans that are being promoted within schools that attempt to reduce salt, fat and sugar without destroying the taste.

Salads are a healthy meal even if you're not a rabbit but try to vary what you are eating by alternating some of the more exotic fruits like kiwi, passion fruit etc for dessert.

When you book your holiday try to choose somewhere that has pleasant walks or a gym in the hotel so that you can keep fit and burn off all those extra calories that you are going to be eating. You might even come home lighter than you left.

Gardening is a healthy passtime so get those flowers weeded now. Your house will stay as pretty as you.

Combine walking with healthy eating habits and you have the perfect recipe for weight loss and improved health. Take the dog with you and you'll also have a friend for life.

For clear, healthy looking skin drink plenty of water. It will also stop you from getting dehydrated.

Spring cleaning the house is an excellent way to lose weight and feel better as there is nothing nicer than waking up to a clean home and feeling organised.

Winter walks are a great way to get your exercise and clear the cobwebs from your mind. As you walk start to think about your summer holidays and remember the good times you've had in the past. It will make you feel happy and chase away those winter blues.

When you make your New Year's resolution choose a small achievable goal. If you want to lose four stone - or give up smoking - aim small and give yourself plenty of time to do it in.
