13th November 2007

I'm very please to say that former Capital Gold DJ Tony Wright is back but this time he's on Real Radio. All I can say is that it is about time - he is a real breath of fresh air in the mornings.

26th October 2007

12th September 2007

I was very impressed by what I read in the South Wales Argus newspaper last night. It seems that men are intimidated by 'perfect bodies'. According to the article 'A survey of 1,000 men and women for More magazine found that 88% believed the pressure would be "too much". Instead a man's ideal female body shape is a small waist and a big bottom (56%), with actress Scarlett Johansson being listed the most ideal shape (44%) from all female celebrities... Only 6% of men said skinny women were the most desirable, with only 3% wanting to see Victoria Beckham nude'. Guess there's hope for us all then. :-)

20th August 2007

Great News former Capital Gold DJ Tony Wright is going to be presenting a show on Real Radio| this week. They have asked him to present the overnight show for a week from Monday 20th August between midnight and 5am. If you are up and around that time in the morning please message him or ring in to request a song as the more interest his show generates the more chance there is of Real Radio offering him more work and let's face it  mornings aren't the same without him. For more information on Tony please visit his MySpace| site

Winning a competition or beauty pageant title isn't the only way to get the most out of competing. Take a look at this article to find out who won the Specsavers Cardiff Regional Final and how a local girl came away with a great prize.|

11th August 2007

One to watch this week is ITV's programme Bite Back which is scheduled to be broadcast on
ITV 1 West at 8.00pm to 8.30pm on Thursday 17th of August.

It's about a 'report on a modelling agency which deceives those seeking a career in the profession, charging excessive fees and making pledges of future work which fails to materialise'.

It's presented by Steve Scott and Donna Bernard and is definitely worth watching especially if you or someone you know is thinking of entering the profession. If you're not going to be at home then get someone to record it for you.

Please remember that no reputable adult agency will charge you to go on their books until after they have found you work to pay for it and even then it's only usually to put a webpage together for you or for professional photographs - which usually gets paid straight to the photographer. It's a good incentive for them to find you work and definitely good business sense for you.

16th July 2007

Tony Wright MBE has been with Capital Gold and before that Touch Radio for many many years. He has been awarded the MBE by HM Queen Elizabeth for his charity and radio work and now he needs our help.

Tony's contract isn't being renewed because Capital Gold has decided to end their regional breakfast shows despite the fact that most of us only tune in to listen to Tony and not the music.

Being a local person - he lives in Newport and is the patron of the All Creatures Great and Small animal sanctuary in Llanfrechfra, Cwmbran - he understands Wales and the Welsh very well indeed. He has become part of our culture and our heritage. The mornings just won't be the same without him. Over the years Tony has built up a huge following in South Wales and each listener is a friend to Tony.

If you would like to sign a petition to try to save his job please visit this link to view and sign the petition. |

7th July 2007

Tonight is the final for the Miss Wales 2007 competition. The winner will be announced in the Wales on Sunday tomorrow.

6th July 2007

Someone rang me yesterday to tell me that my mother had won a free makeover and photographic shoot in London and that all she had to do was tell them when she would like to come up and claim her prize. Knowing my mum it was obvious that something wasn't right as she doesn't really like that side of the camera. I told them to ring back when she was home but guess what? A couple of minutes later I received a phone call telling me that I had won a free makeover and photographic shoot with the same company. Thing is I hadn't even entered the competition! Needless to say I turned their offer down.

I did some research and discovered that lots of people have received phone calls like these and if the information on the Internet is correct  those who go don't actually find it a pleasureable experience at all. In fact those who went to the one that rang me claimed that the makeup is done in a crowded waiting room in front of everybody else and you have to wait ages for your turn. To top that even though they say that you don't have to buy the photographs as you will get a free CD some people claim that money was taken out of their bank accounts - they had to give their details in advance just in case they failed to turn up for the shoot - and they were having difficulties getting the money back.

If you do receive a phone call like this think before you commit to going. Did you enter a competition? If not and it seems too good an offer to be true then it probably is. Apparently the photographs that they take are really good - but some claim that they were charging between £30 and £60 each for them so check on this before going. Oh and one more thing if you do decide to go.. don't go alone just in case.

5th July 2007
