A Pontypool student is through to the Welsh heats of the Miss Great Britain competition.
Victoria Lucas from Pontnewynydd has been chosen from hundreds of entrants to take part in regional stage of the competition.
The 20-year-old will go head to head with a handful of other hopefuls including Caldicot 18-year-old Lisa O'Connor, with the top few going through to the finals.
Miss Lucas hopes to triumph at the competition, to be held on March 20 at the St Davids Hotel and Spa, Cardiff.
"I'm really excited," she said.
"I entered the competition before and came in the top six but only the top five got to go through to the finals.
"I've done a fair bit of modelling before and took part in charity events."
At just 5ft 4ins the petite model hopes that her larger than life personality will make her stand out to the judging panel.
"Even though I'm a bit short, I've been told I'd be great for catalogue modelling.
"I'm studying to become a teacher at the University of Wales Newport at the moment, but I would like to go into modelling."
On March 22, Victoria is taking part in County Hospital, Panteg's League of Friends fashion show.
Her chosen cause for the Miss GB competition is Help the Aged.
