Kathryn's Big Break
The face of teenager Kathryn Burnett could be one you recognise soon.
The nineteen-year-old from Trevethin, Pontypool seems set for stardom after starring in her first feature film alongside Sean Bean and Bob Hoskins, and has landed a role in TV soap Emmerdale.
She caught the eye of directors at an open casting in Newport for the film Outlaw in the summer of 2006.
Orginally trying to get work as an extra, the aspiring actress impressed film-makers with her feisty audition piece, and they cast her in a speaking role opposite the main character, a former para-trooper played by Sean Bean.
She also got to meet Hollywood A-lister Keira Knightley, who was on-set visiting actor boyfriend Rupert Friends.
The film, by Football Factory director Nick Love, is about a group of people who form a modern-day "outlaw posse" to right what they see as the wrongs of society.
Kathryn said the whole experience was "brilliant."
She said: "I didn't even think I'd get work as an extra, so actually getting a part was brilliant. I filmed for four days and I just took it in my stride. It was absolutely fantastic meeting all those famous people, but really strange. I didn't get star-struck though, and Keira Knightley was lovely.
"I've been acting since I was six and got my first part in a university film around three years ago. I just love it, and my friends think it's absolutely brilliant. They're really pleased for me."
She added: "I'm really excited about it, and I'm hoping to get some more parts in TV programmes.
"The premiere for the film is on Tuesday and I've got my dress ready."
Kathryn says she is attending the premiere in Leicester Square with mum Phillipa, 44, and brother Dwayne Warwick, six.
She said: "I've always loved acting, I just love being able to be different people."
