Photograph showing part of the Cwmbran Carnival Procession 2006This year's Cwmbran Carnival will be taking place on the 16th June 2007 and is set to be a big success!

 

Local groups, businesses and individuals or families can get involved by:

  • hiring a stall to raise funds or promote a new product or service,
  • by taking part in the procession
  • by performing on the field
  • or just by coming along to enjoy the free fun activities and have a have a great day out!

 

Many of the groups and organisations taking part in this year’s parade will be performing for visitors on the carnival field this year, including school groups, drama troupes, belly dancers, sea cadets, street dancers, marching bands, youth clubs and more besides.

 

In addition to trade and charity stalls, Fun Fair, Children’s Corner with inflatables, toy stalls, football games and more, there will be plenty of free activities for children including a 24ft high climbing wall, with four rockfaces to climb and 25 sqm of climbing surface, as well as roaming jugglers, stilt walkers and acrobats.

 

Photograph of the Webster stall at Cwmbran Carnival in 2006Webster the Cat will also be onhand to entertain the crowds and the theme of the Webster stall this year will be 'Health Matters'  so make sure that you pop along and say hello to the team.  

 

Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre will also be on site providing free arts and crafts sessions for young people as well as a display marquee for local artists demonstrating and selling their wares.

 

Greenmeadow Farm will also be there on the day with their petting corner for younger visitors and for the over 12’s a DJ Workshops will be available on the field supported by The Musical Youth Project.

 

Photograph of the climbing wall taken at Cwmbran Carnival 2005The fun starts at 1pm when the parade leaves the former Girlings car park (Arvin Meritor) and arrives at Cwmbran Stadium at approximately 1.45pm. Come and support your local carnival and enjoy all the free activities for children . Activities end at 6pm.

 

This year’s event is organised and funded by Cwmbran Community Council, Croesyceiliog & Llanyravon community Council, Henllys Community Council, Ponthir Community Council and Torfaen County Borough Council. The event is also supported by commercial sponsors Kier Western, Melin Housing Association, Rubin Lewis Solicitors, Cwrt Henlls Hotel, PSM Sportswear and Cwmbran Locksmiths.
