RAISING FUNDS FOR CANCER
All funds raised this year will go towards much needed equipment for Velindre hospital which is a treatment centre for all cancers.
It is important that you know that the money will not simply be donated, to be ate up by administration. Instead we have spoken with staff and patients who have suggested equipment that would benefit the patients whilst receiving treatment. This equipment will be purchased by Pink Fizz and then donated directly to the relevant departments, to ensure they actually receive it. Monies raised from the June 2007 walk will also buy equipment for Velindre and other local cancer treatment centres.
As you may know, Velindre Hospital is a centre that treats all types of cancer, regardless of age and sex. This year we would very much like to encourage more men and children to take up the challenge. If you know of someone who would like to take part, why not download a registration form from the left hand side of this window.
You may be glad to hear that the canal walk is back on for those who would like to take part but are not physically able to complete the ½ marathon walk. There will no longer be a fun day and therefore the walk around the park has been dropped. We are hoping that our usual starting position behind Newport Leisure Centre will be back to normal this year as the major road works should then be completed.
We would be very grateful if you can return your form together with the registration money of £7.50 by Friday 30 March so that we can order you the correct t-shirt size.
