Health Social Care and Wellbeing Strategy

Health, Social Care & Well-being Strategy

The current Health Social Care & Well Being Strategy (2005-08)| is due to be reviewed and updated.

The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) has asked Local Health Boards (LHBs) and Local Authorities (LAs) in Wales to develop a second Health Social Care and Well-being Strategy.  The policy context of Health Social Care and Well-being (HSCWB) strategies has been set out in WAG guidance and is mentioned in Statute. To help develop the Strategy for the three-year period, 2008-2011, a second Health Social Care and Wellbeing needs assessment is being undertaken by Torfaen Local Public Health Team and partners.

The pages below contain the Needs Assessment and supporting knowledge, documents and data, which will inform the development of  the next Health Social Care and Wellbeing Strategy.  It is envisaged that, in time, this knowledge resource will be used by the diversity of HSC&WB decision makers to inform commissioning, policy and practice aimed at improving Health Social Care and Wellbeing in Torfaen.
