Gwent Cancer Support

Complementary Therapies

Gwent Cancer Support offers a free complementary therapy service of Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Healing, at County Hospital, Griffithstown to cancer patients and their carers.

Reflexology

The feet are a map of the body, with meridian lines of energy, connecting the feet to all parts of the body. Very relaxing effective for de-stressing and for general healing and balancing body systems.

Indian Head Massage

Massage of the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face, with or without oil.. Very de-stressing and uplifting. It can help release emotional blockages.

Healing

The channelling of universal healing energy to affect the physical, emotional and spiritual levels. You don't need faith or a religious belief to benefit - just an open enough mind to try it!

Again, very relaxing and calming and can be used to help all conditions.

The Therapist, Richard Williams has been a practicing healer and therapist for the past twelve years. He is a member of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers and the federation of Holistic Therapists and has qualifications in Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage and Healing.

He has been drawn to work mostly with people who have been affected by cancer and their carers. In addition to working with Gwent Cancer Support, he works with another local Cancer charity and at the Palliative Care Day Unit at Aberdare Hospital for whom he does home visits.

His aim is to provide a friendly, sympathetic service, using the most appropriate therapy and/or healing.
