Appointments
Routine Appointments - please phone after 10am
You can make an appointment at the surgery during the surgery hours or by telephone. Doctors appointments are available for booking one week in advance with any Doctor or 2 weeks in advance for a Doctor of your choice. Nursing appointments can be booked weeks in advance.
Emergency Appointments
Each morning we run an Emergency Surgery. This surgery is for patients who feel they are very unwell and cannot wait for a booked appointment. If you feel you need an Emergency appointment we ask you to consider "will I come to any harm by waiting". Please telephone before 10am if you feel you need to see the Doctor the same day. You will be given an appointment time, although sometimes the doctor calls patients in earlier for medical reasons. If you feel your need is urgent (e.g. chest pain, or a child with a high temperature) please inform the Receptionist.
Appointments for Medicals
If you have been asked to make an appointment for a medical, this will require a half hour slot.
Please inform the receptionist that you wish to have a medical. Please remember to bring any documentation you have with you along with your early morning urine sample. Also please note that there may be a charge for some medicals performed in the surgery. Please check with the receptionist.
Waiting Time
We hope to see you at your appointed time but on occasions you may have to wait. This will be due to the doctor or nurse dealing with another patient. This can be frustrating for all involved but will keep you informed if there is a delay. If you have any queries please see the receptionist.
Cancelling an Appointment
If you find that you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know.
According to estimates from the Doctor Patient Partnership (DPP) over 12 million GP appointments were missed last year, with a cost to the NHS of £250 million. If you cannot make your appointment please contact us, so the slot can be taken by another patient. The surgery has a policy of removing patients from the register who persistently miss appointments without cancellation.
