Repeat Prescribing
The practice has an agreed protocol for repeat prescribing. For further supplies of your repeat medication, please adhere to the following:
Requests can be handed in at reception, pharmacy or the chemist, and will be returned to the same place for collection.
Use the tear off slip on your prescription for re-ordering your new supplies. The items you require must be ticked.
Requests will not be routinely accepted via the telephone, except for patients who are housebound.
Allow 48 hrs for collection of a new prescription at reception, or 72 hrs if handed in at pharmacy or the chemist.
Please inform either the prescription clerk or your GP if you are no longer taking any of the medication on your repeat prescription.
The practice does not dispense prescriptions. There are two pharmacies in town, one in the Health Care Unit and the other in Broad St.
Pharmacy/Chemist
Your local pharmacy/chemist always has a pharmacist on duty to give you advice on treating minor illnesses. They can now treat some minor ailments – please see the receptionist for more details. Pharmacists have a private area where you can speak in confidence. Take a list of your regular medication with you so that a medicine can be safely chosen for you.
Many medicines for minor illnesses are available from your local pharmacy/chemist.
