Pontio Ysgolion Cynradd Transision

Pontio ysgolion gynradd

Cychwynir ar y broses o bontio yn ystod Blwyddyn 5, ond mae'r cynllun yn cryfhau yn ystod Blwyddyn 6. Y nod yw ymgyfarwyddo.

Anelir at ddatblygu strwythur bontio effeithiol rhwng Cyfnodau Allweddol 2 a 3 er mwyn sicrhau dilyniant ynghyd â'u cynnydd academaidd. Gwneir hyn drwy feithrin cysylltiadau agos rhwng athrawon a phrifathrawon y sector gynradd a'r sector uwchradd.

Mae datblygiad yr unigolyn yn bwysig drwy ei yrfa addysgol a cheisir ysgafnhau'r gofid a'r pryder a ddaw i ran nifer o'r disgyblion wrth drosglwyddo o un sector i'r llall.

Sicrheir bod disgyblion Blwyddyn 6 yn cael y cyfle i ymweld â'r adeilad ac i ddod i adnabod athrawon a disgyblion hþn yr ysgol. Trefnir cyfarfodydd rhwng Penaethiaid Adrannau'r Ysgol Uwchradd a chydlynydd y pynciau hynny yn yr ysgolion cynradd er mwyn cysoni a safoni gwaith y disgyblion. Rydym wedi datblygu cysylltiadau agos yn ystod y tair blynedd ddiwethaf ymhob un o'r pynciau craidd ond bwriedir gweithredu'r cynllun hwn i'r adrannau eraill yn y dyfodol.

Primary/Secondary Links

The transition process from primary to secondary begins in Year 5, however the scheme strengthens in Year 6. The aim of the scheme is familiarity.

We aim to develop a strong liaison between Key Stages 2 and 3 to ensure follow through for all pupils together with academic progress. Strong links between staff and head teachers of both primary and secondary schools have been nurtured to aid this process.

The development of the individual is paramount throughout his or her school career and every effort is made to ease any fears during this transition process.

We ensure that all Year 6 pupils have an opportunity to visit the school, to familiarise themselves with the site, the teachers and with older pupils.

We also arrange meetings between the Heads of Departments from Gwynllyw and the subject co-ordinators from the primary schools to standardise the work of the pupils prior to them beginning secondary education.

During the last three years, we have established and strengthened the links in the core subjects and we are hoping to extend this scheme within all subjects in the future.
