The Subgroup aims to tackle low business start-up rates through driving a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the workplace, education and the community. It advises the CCET on skills needs and improving the focus of curricula to achieve parity of esteem for academic and vocational learning. Activities include:
• seeking sponsorship for innovation arising from education-industry partnership
• providing a forum for Torfaen companies to exchange best practice
• formulating funding bids
• helping to tackle barriers to the recruitment of under-represented an excluded groups
• promoting in-company training
• promoting the value of graduates to SMEs.
