WebPage
Below is how your site will be set out.
You need to decide your target audience of who may be interested in viewing your site.
Before you start put some ideas on paper how you would like the site to appear whether you are going to use images from the clipart gallery or just text.
Go into Microsoft Word as this is the program we are going to use to design your web site.
Your first page will be an index page and will eventually link to you’re your other web pages within your site, this page should be kept simple. Type the heading at the top as what you would like to call your web site to be known as e.g. John’s Web Site and what your site is about also list underneath as these will later become your hyperlinks to your other pages.
Family and
Interests and hotlinks
Fonts - you can alter the font, size, alignment and colour of the text all of these icons are on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
These are some of the text fonts you can use on your site.
Screen Appearance - You can add borders and change the colour of the page. Pull down format menu, then choose background, be careful with the background colour you choose as it could appear unreadable e.g. orange background with yellow text. A dark text with a lighter coloured background is acceptable and will be easier to read, but it will depend on personal preference.
Graphics - these are used to make your site more interesting and appealing. To add a image click on insert choose picture and either clip art or file. You can move your picture around and have it as your background or your text either side of your picture. You can do this by right clicking the picture and choosing format object/picture and choosing your preference to suite you.
Now you have finished your first page congratulate yourself, only two more to go, save your first page as index and create a new blank document and design your second page which is going to be called family, you can write about yourself or your family and then a interests and hotlinks page. Again design this page to how you would like it to appear, on this final page add to it any web addresses of sites that are of interest to you. This is simple to do just type the web address and it immediately becomes a link as the text changes colour to blue after you have typed in the address.

Creating Hyperlinks between your web pages - now in order to create the links between your web pages for browser to go between you will now need to create hyperlinks. In order to do this you will need to type the text you want to use as the link e.g. interests, highlight the word and then click on the hyperlink button
and type in the HTML file you wish to make the link to.
Now you have completed your web site you will now need to save your files as HTML files, this is done by clicking file, save as. Then in the save as type drop down box found beneath the file name box, choose HTML document then click save.
