Young people get SAVY
Young people helped improve the gardens of the Taliesin complex in Cwmbran. They weeded, re-lined the flower beds and tidied up the area. It was part of the SAVY project which helps young people aged 16-25 who are looking for education, guidance and work experience to then lead to employment. It is based at the Cwmbran Centre for Young People (CCYP) in Cwmbran, New Inn youth club, Ty Rosser youth club and the Doorway in Blaenavon.
Leigh Rowland, from CCYP, said: "The residents at Taliesin and their support worker Karen have contact with the young people of Cwmbran through the CCYP as it hosts monthly meetings for them and the PHAB team. The young people were extremely polite and enthusiastic about the task and integrated with the residents very well. It was a great day and even a road sweeper who was going by helped out by sucking up some stray leaves."
