More than a leisure centre
PONTYPOOL Active Living Centre is being reopened on Saturday 23 September after a £7 million refurbishment. It’s the new name for Pontypool leisure centre to reflect the wide ranging services that will be available from it.
Councillor Neil Lewis, Executive Member for Regeneration, said: "Pontypool Leisure Centre has been rebranded as an Active Living Centre and will focus on the health needs of the community, and more specifically increasing levels of physical activity. It will still provide traditional sports facilities but will also provide a whole lot more by way of health advice, medical support, and encouraging greater social wellbeing."
