Crime down in Torfaen

OVER the last year, crime in the Monmouthshire and Torfaen Division has reduced by almost 9% with most importantly 1300 less victims. Key figures include:

  •  An 8% reduction in domestic burglaries with 40 less victims.
  • An 11% reduction in violent crime with 380 less victims.
  •  A 13% reduction in vehicle crime with 310 less victims
  •  A 7% reduction anti-social crime with 514 less victims.

 

Last year Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Paul Symes gave a commitment to work with key partners to:

  • Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.
  •  Bring more offenders to justice.
  • Develop our approach to neighbourhood policing.
