Booze seized
THIS huge amount of alcohol was seized during just one weekend in Cwmbran. It was a two-night police operation working in partnership with Torfaen Council’s trading standards team and community safety officers. This drink was taken from under-age young people in the street and in parks.
Inspector James Baker, Cwmbran police, said: “Many incidents of anti-social behaviour that we deal with are alcohol related and we will be working with Torfaen Council on similar operations in the future. Such initiatives also involve test purchasing where we ensure retailers are complying with the law and asking for ID when they suspect someone is under 18.”
