Help Improve Council Services

Do you want to help plan the way that services will be improved in Torfaen? Torfaen Council has begun consultation on its Risk Assessment for 2007-08 and wants to hear your views.

Torfaen Council has made a commitment that by 2010-11 it will achieve the priorities set out in its Corporate Plan. The Risk Assessment will highlight some of the challenges that the Council has to overcome to deliver its aims in the next year.

The Council wants to hear from as many people as possible before it is finalised.

Councillor Bob Wellington, Leader of the Council, said: "The Council’s Risk Assessment forms the basis for where planned improvements are made to our services. The Corporate Plan has helped to focus on what is important to the people of Torfaen. The Risk Assessment will enable us to identify barriers to us reaching these goals. This really is a great opportunity for local people to have their say and influence how the Council develops its services."

The consultation paper can be viewed at www.torfaen.gov.uk| and via Webster terminals across the area, or you can get a copy by calling 01495 766298.
