Cwmbran Diabetes Voluntary Support group organises talks and social trips throughout the year and welcomes new members. They arrange talks by diabetes specialists as well as guest speakers from other walks of life.
Chris Gillette, spokesman, said: "We aim to strike a balance between addressing the serious side of diabetes as well as nurturing a social aspect to our activities. We extend an invitation to anyone with diabetes, their family or carers in and around Cwmbran to join us. Our meetings are relaxed and held in comfortable surroundings with good facilities."
They meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at St David’s RC Church, Pontnewydd (on junction of Avondale Road / Station Road).
The next meeting is Tuesday 10 April with guest speaker, former Bevin Boy Harold Gibson. There is a day trip to Cardiff Bay on Tuesday 13 March. Call Lynne Price on 01633 866638.
