Pontypool Round Table

About Round Table

Round Table was formed in 1927 by Louis Marchesi with the following Aims and Objects

Aims and Objects of R.T.B.I.

  • To develop the acquaintance of young men through the medium of their various occupations.
  • To emphasise the fact that one’s calling offers an excellent medium of service to the community. To cultivate the highest ideals in business, professional and civic traditions.
  • To recognise the worthiness of all legitimate occupations and to dignify, each his own, by precept and example.
  • To further the establishment of peace and goodwill in international relationships.

To further these objects by meetings, lectures, discussions and other activities.

Everything you do in Round table brings enjoyment, most of all it's always fun!

The things that you can do are truly varied and these include paint balling, sailing, formal dinners, parties, karting, visit another table, area meetings, eating out or even international visits.

The members of Round Table come from all walks of life and join for a variety of reasons - perhaps as a gateway to relaxation and to enjoyment, or as a way of participating in the local community. It is, of course, an ideal way for those who have moved into a new area to find new friends of a similar age.

Membership of Round Table helps to create confidence and character. The individual learns quickly to mix and 'have-a-go' at helping to organise and run meetings and events. The organisation is run by and for Tablers and their partners as a hobby.

Round Table is Not:

  • A secret society.
  • A funny-handshake brigade.
  • Full of old fogies.
  •  Religious or political.

Round Table Is:

  • Fun.
  • Sociable.
  • A great way of helping others through fundraising and community action.
  • The quickest way of settling into a new town by meeting like-minded people.
Pontypool Round Table organise events to raise money for local causes. All money raised goes to local good causes
