The benefits of eating fresh fruit and veg as part of a healthy lifestyle cannot be underestimated. However, two factors that affect our choice are - how much money is in the kitty and - how much time we have to prepare our food?
Customer care, quality, value and variety are hallmarks of the service we are able to offer you.
For the past few months CoStar have been able to offer fresh fruit and veg at affordable prices and often with some helpful and appetising ideas for recipes.
The CoStar Veggie Bag Scheme has been set up to help improve the health and well-being of all those included in the local community. This is helped through informed choice and provision of an affordable fresh fruit and vegetable box scheme.
The veg are supplied by a local wholesaler and locally sourced produce is used wherever possible. An added benefit is that instead of accumulating air-miles through (oftentimes unecessary) imports, we are all contributing towards developing sustainable local food economies.
Veggie box schemes are becoming more and more popular in Wales and they offer the ability to get food straight from the farmer to the consumer.
With the increase and popularity of farmers’ markets, the development of community owned farms, and looking to local suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint, the CoStar Fruit and Vegetable Box Scheme is a positive and beneficial step towards developing a sustainable local food economy.
