Emergency Management
Introduction
Torfaen Emergency Management Service, through departmental, corporate and multi-agency intergration of service delivery, assesses, prepares, plans, responds, recovers and effectively mitigates against the effects of any minor emergency or disruptive challenge to the Council, Community and Environment.
The Democracy & Governance Division of the County Borough Solicitor's Division of the Chief Executive's Department undertakes the lead role for the provision of this service.
This service is a new and exciting departure from the Gwent Authorities Emergency Planning Service, which will create new opportunities for a more focussed and improved service delivery to the community of Torfaen.
Emergency Management Team
Torfaen Emegerency Management Team consists of three specially trained, experienced and competent staff:
Head of Emergency Management,
Emergency Management Officer, and
Emergency Management Administrative Support Officer
The team is also supported by Torfaen's Emergency 24hr Control Room. Which can be contacted by services and the public (out of office hours) for an emergency response. The room also takes in flood warnings and severe weather warnings.
