New Inn Pensioners Association

A pensioners association that organises fortnightly entertainment for older people in New Inn and the surrounding areas.

22nd May 2007

 We left New Inn for a trip to Kidderminster and the Severn Valley Railway. Tthanks to Awards for all Wales. Everyone had a wonderful day out.

24th April 2007

We start the first of our annual  coach trips on April 24th to Weston Super Mare, this wil be then  be followed on May 22nd to Kidderminster for a trip on the Severn Valley Railway. A further four trips are planned and  details to follow at a later date.

 

We would like to thank Awards for All Wales ( lottery grant ) for their financial support  towards the cost of our trips this year, and Torfaen Voluntary Alliance for their assistance in obtaining this award.

14th March 2007

The Christmas dinner that was cancelled in 2006 was held on 14th March 2007 at Swffrydd Community Centre. It was attended by sixty members, and also our three presidents, Councillor Maurice Morgan, Councillor John Turner and Councillor Helen Ford. Everyone enjoyed their meal and entertainment afterwards. A bouquet of flowers was presented to Mr & Mrs H Williams by Helen Ford on behalf of New Inn Pensioners Association on the occasion of their Golden Wedding. Everyone is looking forward to the next event which will be a coach trip to Weston -Super -Mare.

6th March 2007

We have received a lottery grant from Awards For All Wales for £1973. This is to be used mainly for coach trips, including some educational visits. The cheque was presented to us at our last concert evening, The Mayor of Torfaen, Councillor Mrs Mary Barnett. We were then entertained by Cwmbran Male Choir.

25th January 2007

 The AGM was held at New Inn Public Hall at 7.15pm and our president Councillor Maurice Morgan was present.

 It was well attended by the members. Voting took place and the officers and committee remain the same as 2006. The previously cancelled Christmas Dinner will now take place on March 14th at Swffryd Community Hall.
