Torfaen Voluntary Alliance
Torfaen Voluntary Alliance meets the minimum standards by supporting voluntary and community activity in a number of ways.

Provides practical support in terms of photocopying, administration, payroll service, equipmemt loan, meeting rooms etc.

Provides training for voluntary and community groups.

Assists with advice on constitutions, charity law, registration, etc

assists organisations to secure funding e.g. helps with submitting bids, provides funding advice etc. Last year TVA helped organisations bring in £588,000 in funding bids.

Disseminates information in TAFOD torfaen, TVA's newsletter, regular mailings to members,

Community Newsletters etc.

Through the Volunteer Bureau, provides volunteering opportunities for local people and supports organisations that use volunteers.

Supports the Children, Young People and Family Forum and Health Social Care and Well Being Forum.

Supports voluntary sector representatives on strategic partnerships and planning groups.

Manages the Communities First programme in Torfaen on behalf of its partners and the local communities.

Develops partnership working between the local voluntary sector, the local authority, local health board, police and other organisations.

Serves as an interface between the voluntary sector and the statutory authorities.

Consults with the voluntary sector and partners on local issues which have a wider impact across Wales e.g The Assembly's Ten Year Strategy.

Raises the profile of the local and voluntary sector and creating new opportunities for raising funds.
