About the Project

 

The CLS Debt Project is funded by the Community Legal Service and was set up to enable a greater number of the public to access free high quality legal advice regarding Debt and Money problems.

We provide eligible Clients with help and support in negotiating payments to their creditors, representation at County Court for Eviction/Repossession and Bankruptcy, negotiating with the Local Authority and Mortgage lenders to avoid Court action wherever possible, and dealing with Bailiffs to avoid imprisonment and removal of the Client’s possessions.

To be eligible for help via this project Clients must fit criteria set by the Community Legal Services regarding their income.
