Sure Start at Helping Hands Cwmbran is situated in Cwmbran Integrated Children's Centre and is open in the mornings and afternoons. It offers services to families with children under 4 years of age, who live in the South West Cwmbran area.
Satellite Helping Hands projects are situated in Thornhill, Greenmeadow and Fairwater.
What Services does Sure Start Offer?
For children:
The aim of Sure Start is to offer play activities that allow children the best possible start as they enter school. To assist this, children attending the crèche are cared for by trained staff who offer a varied programme of age related play activities using play equipment and materials that stimulate the skills and development of the child.
A fun and friendly environment is offered by the staff, which allows children to build trust and develop in a relaxed environment. The play activities offered help promote children's development in the following areas:

For parents:
The Parent Programme offers parents the opportunity to take part in a varied programme of activities, which can include:

Health Visitor Drop-In

Community Dental Team

Play activities to help a child's development

Help for parents with reading, writing and maths -to help parents help their children.

A multi-agency approach is also promoted allowing families to access information about the variety of services available to them from Education, Health, Social Services, Housing etc
