Torfaen Mind

Torfaen Mind

Torfaen Mind helps to support and inform people in the local community who experience mental health problems, or who may have relatives, carers or friends of someone who experiences emotional distress.

Our Aims

At least one in four people will, at some time in their life, experience an imbalance in their mental health. Our aim is to help people to help themselves get the support they need.

Our Services

We provide a number of services such as a Drop in centre, Outreach, Counselling, Floating Support, Day Activities, Outreach and Supported Housing.

Drop In Centre

The concept of the Drop-In Centre is at the heart of our aims and is the social hub of the daily activity of Torfaen Mind. In line with our ethos of self help, members are encouraged to join in with all decision making processes involved in the running of the Centre and the programme of activities.

Counselling

Counselling offers you a safe “No strings attached” environment that allows you the space where, in partnership with your counsellor, you can explore your feelings and situation.

Floating Support

To enable people to live independently in their own home, to manage their mental health, to gain quality in their everyday life and maintain their tenancies

To provide a flexible service dependant upon tenant’s needs

Day Activities

Working alongside clients to help them take up day activities or inform them of activities that are available in their area.

Outreach

We provide outreach once a week in Cwmbran in the Customer Care Centre, in Blaenavon in the Customer care centre and in Talygarn.

Housing

Providing temporary accommodation with support to provide residents with the confidence and ability to sustain a tenancy with success.

We are committed to working collaboratively with our clients and welcome input from outside agencies and our partners.

We offer volunteering opportunities and placements for Students, Social Workers, Nurses and anyone who feels that they can contribute to the organisation or help our clients
