Pontypool Regeneration
Pontypool Community Council assist with the strategic regeneration of Pontypool Town Centre. the Community Council has joined forces with Torfaen County Borough Council to contribute £100,00.annually towards smaller projects which will enhance the main regeneratoin.
Each year the Regeneration steering group along with co-opted members from the community contribute towards several events in the town such as Jazz in the Park and the Christmas Cavalcade|.
Money has been spent on enhancing shop fronts and on developing the entrances to the town. Street furniture has been provided and the floral displays in hanging baskets and tubs. Funding for projects to contribute towards the regeneration are also considered.
Pontypool Market has had a face lift and the outdoor market has been brought back to town which has been a huge success and brings a real buzz to the town every wednesday.
These arnt 'one offs' but a continual assessment of the needs of Pontypool to promote and market it to attract people to the town.
