Doggy Bins
Over the last 5 years, Pontypool Community Council has been able to provide over 30 Doggy bins in the Pontypool area. Many local ward members have provided sponsorship towards the cost of these bins. These have been placed at various green sites i.e parks and public playing fields to encourage dog owners to dispose of their doggy mess in a responsible manner.
Many people are unaware of the health risks that dog mess imposes. Dog faeces contains toxocara eggs which can be ingested by humans, children being the most vunerable, can become ill and in some cases have been know to lose their site.
Dog mess in public places is an irritant and offence to us all and it is important that the message gets across to all dog owners to please clean up after their dogs.
We also provide many litter bins throughout the town to help keep our environment clean. Dont forget you the public are just as responsible for putting your rubbish in the bin. If we work together then we can make Pontypool a clean and clear town.
