12.00 – 5.00 pm Mad melly’s mobile disco performs alongside Christmas tree at the link (top of crane street).
11.00am – 1.00 pm & 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm calling all children!! come and meet santa in his grotto at Pontypool indoor market.
Throughout the day various entertainment at Pontypool indoor market, come along children and have your face painted by masquerade face painters, performers will be circulating in and out of the market to entertain shoppers including Pontypool brass band and children’s entertainer Jenny-Any-Dots.
A magnificent variety of street entertainers will perform for the crowds throughout george street and crane street including Sir lupin and his singing reindeer, Franco the Clown, Carl John – comedy magician, Pic n mix circus entertainers, Francis Maxey – comedy magician & Risky who’s performances will include unicycling, juggling, balloon modelling, whip cracking, fire breathing. There will also be a Punch & Judy Show & magic shows.
The camelia jazz Band’ will provide unique musical entertainment to the crowds, st cadoc’s millennium chimes will add a seasonal flavour to the day with bell rining displays and Batatan will provide live Samba and Reggae Music.
4.30 pm - Parade commences The Cavalcade procession (including father Christmas riding in a horse & carriage) will start from outside Pontypool community council offices/st. david’s foundation. Riding alongside Santa will be Kristy Cromwell, aged 10 (the winner of last year’s Christmas colouring competition). the parade will be led by the camellia parade band, new inn royals jazz band, alison lee academy school of dance, Pontypool youth group Plus many walkers and various street entertainers
4.45 pm Dancing display at the Link (top of crane street) by Alison lee academy school of dance.
4.55 pm switching on of the christmas lights at the site of the christmas tree at the link (top of crane street) by bbc radio wales presenter roy noble. the chairman of pontypool community council, councillor mrs Cynthia beynon And the Mayor of torfaen, councillor mrs mary barnett will say a few words.
Approximately 5.10 pm join in with carols around the Christmas tree with the salvation
Army band.
