Ponthir Community Council serving the community of Ponthir, providing a range of services to improve its residents’ quality of life

Ponthir Community Council

Community:

Representing residents’ views, monitoring environmental problems, reviewing planning applications and representing Ponthir on external bodies etc. The Community Police Officer regularly attends Council Meetings to discuss traffic and other Police related matters.

The Community Council makes grants to local voluntary organisations.

It currently is planning a programme of minor environmental improvement schemes.

The Community Council operates an office from the Ponthir Cricket Club Pavilion, School Close, Ponthir which is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday 10 am to 1 pm.

 

COUNCIL MEETINGS

The Council normally meets at 7.00 pm in Ponthir Cricket Club on the second Wednesday of every month. 

The Council also has a Finance Sub-Committee and a Planning Sub-Committee.

 

To cope with extra business a number of supplementary meetings may be held. In addition we liaise closely with the community police and 'Surgeries' are held as and when requested either by the Community Councillors or local residents.

 

Anyone intending to attend one of these supplementary meetings should first contact the Clerk to make sure that the meeting will be held.

 

All Ponthir residents are invited to attend any of the Council Meetings.
