Where Are We
Cwmbran Community Council is based at The Council House at the junction of Victoria Street and Ventnor Road and has been there since April 1991. Many 'older' residents know the Victorian building (circ. 1898) as The Old Police Station and, although not listed, it has an interesting history and will be known to many for a variety of reasons!
The Council House was both a Police Station and Court and provided police accommodation and two police cells (now turned into ladies and gents toilets - how convenient!). In fact, you may have an interesting, humorous (or sobering) tale to tell so do please get in touch.
Cwmbran Community Council is able to offset the bulk of its own accommodation costs by renting its 1st floor offices to tenants, thus ensuring that we spend more on the services that really do make a difference in the community. We also have rooms and a small community hall for hire for meetings, seminars and small conferences. So please speak to us if your organisation would like to consider using our facilities at a very reasonable cost.
