Greenmeadow Community Farm

Working with the Community

We are delighted to work closely with many different community groups. If you belong to a local community group and would like to get involved, please contact us to discuss this.

Gwent Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers

The Gwent Guild of Spinners, Weavers & Dyers has been involved with the Farm since it first became a community farm and meet here regularly every Tuesday and Saturday morning. They contribute to the special events that take place at the Farm and we are proud to have them here as they keep this ancient art alive. They always welcome visitors and new members at their sessions and would be delighted to see you during your visit. For information about the Guild's programme of events, please see the Events page of this website or visit their webpage www.gwentguildwsd.org.uk

Farm Friends & Green Wellies

Farm Friends and Green Wellies are based here Monday – Friday the groups comprise of local adults with learning difficulties who come to gain some realistic work experience and interact with the staff, volunteers and general public on a day to day basis. Farm Friends assist with jobs such as filling the animal feed bags, maintaining the wishing well and the pond and are a valuable group to have on board. Green Wellies have transformed an overgrown area of the Farm into a productive garden and wildlife haven. Some of the produce which they grow is used in the Farm café and you can also purchase some of their goods in our Farm shop. Green Wellies also offer a local gardening service - please call for further details.
