SUMMER HOLIDAYS - Wednesday 25th July - Sunday 2nd September

Loads of fun to be had all day, every day of the summer holidays - see full What's Ons below! 

!!! MONDAY MADNESS !!!

All the beautiful sunshine has gone to our heads and we have decided to offer HALF PRICE children's admission on Mondays during the Summer Holidays!* This means that as of Monday 30th July you and your family can enjoy paying just £2.70 per child aged 2 and above on the Mondays of summer** (don't forget under-2's come free) Adult admission will remain normal price £6.50 per adult :-) 

*excludes Bank Holiday Monday 27th August
** Monday 30th July, Mondays 6th, 13th & 20th August

Wonderful Wednesdays of Summer 

Don't forget to keep an eye out for our Wonderful Wednesdays of Summer which will have a different theme each week as follows:

Wednesday 22nd August - Mythical Creatures (Unicorns & Dragons) - back by popular demand!  So popular last year, it's back!  Join us for Unicorn Walkabout, Dragon Bathing and more!!

Wednesday 29th August - Tractor Ted - without doubt one of our favourite days of the year!  Join us and the awesome Tractor Ted team for some Ted inspired fun!  

Saturday 1st September - Tractor Fun Day - join us as we welcome local tractor owners and enthusiasts for a day of tractor themed fun...make the most of the outdoors before you head back to school! 

 

WEEK FOUR Saturday 18th - Friday 24th August
10.00 Farm Opens
10:30 - 12:30 Cuddle Corner – come and have a cwtch and get to know some of our smaller animals
11:30 Milking Demonstration – see our lovely Friesian 'Dipsy' being milked and learn about all things milk
12:00 Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride
12:30 - 13:30 Greet & Groom - help us spruce up some of lovely animals (Drop in session)
13:00 - 16:00 Craft – get hands on and creative while Mum & Dad relax with a cuppa! This weeks activity is to 'Design a Mythical Creature' Why not enter your artwork as an exhibit to the Greenmeadow show for just 25p? Cash prizes to be won!
14:00 Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride
14:30 Pony Agility- we can't wait to take our ponies for a little trot around! Come and help us and cheer them along!
15:00 - 16:30 Cuddle Corner – come and have a cwtch with and get to know some of our smaller animals
15:30 Bearded Dragon Bathing - did you know that our bearded dragons love a bit of a splash about? Come and help us to give them a lovely refreshing dip!
16:00 Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride
16:30 Goat Teatime – help us give our mischievous goats a tasty teatime treat!
17:00 Farm closes…time for the animals to hit the hay before their next busy day, Zzzz….

13.00 - 14.00 Meet the ‘Dragon Hatchlings’—pop along to the Hatchery and meet our ‘dinky dragons’ learn all about them and then help us bathe them!

14:30 Sheep Racing - our fast flock have been in some serious training and are ready to round off the summer holidays on a high! Who will be the fastest?!? Come and help us and cheer them along!
15:00 - 16:30 Cuddle Corner – come and have a cwtch with and get to know some of our smaller animals
15:30 Den Building - pop along to the coolness of the Dell and make you own super den in the woods!
16:00 Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride
16:30 Piggy Teatime – help us give our perky porkers a tasty teatime treat!

SEPTEMBER

Saturday 1st September - Junior Farmer for a Day - Suitable for age 4-8 (Guardian to attend)

Sunday 9th September - FAMILY FUNDAY/THE GREENMEADOW SHOW featuring the HORTICULTURAL & CRAFT SHOW

A fantastic Family day out for all.  Our annual craft and horticultural show is a great day to be involved in and you can enter your own exhibits to win cash prizes!  Even if you are not entering anything into the show, it's still a great day to come along and have some good old fashioned fun!  And the best bit?  Half price admission!  What's not to love? 

OCTOBER

Saturday 27th October - Farmer for a Day (suitable age 8 - 14)

AUTUMN HALF TERM FUN

Saturday 27th October - Sunday 4th November - Halloween and Half term fun!

Wednesday 31st October - 10am - 3.30pm - Halloween Fun for Little Ones - spooky fun for those who do not want too much of a scare!

Wednesday 31st October - Halloween Spooktakular - Gates open at 6pm - prepare for the scare!!  Tickets can be bought in advance

December 2018

Sunday 16th December - Junior Farmer for a Day (age 4-8, guardian must attend)
Sunday 23rd December - Farmer for a Day (age 8 - 14)

Christmas at the Farm...our favourite visitor, Father Christmas will be taking residence in his cosy farm grotto and will be looking forward to meeting and greeting you on the following dates between 10am and 4pm:

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd
Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th 
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th 
Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd (REINDEER flying in on the 23rd)

Father Christmas will also be with us for our Twinkley Twilight Christmas Celebration evening on Tuesday 11th December between 4pm and 8pm

Baby & Toddler Tuesdays

Every Tuesday from February to November is  Baby & Toddler day - targeted at infants and pre school children with an array of additional exciting activities.  They will recommence on Tuesday 5th February 2019 - please check the Baby & Toddler Tuesday page of this website for updates. You can also 'Like' our Baby & Toddler Tuesdays Facebook page.

Gwent Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers

The object of the Guild is for the preservation & improvement of craftsmanship in hand weaving, spinning & dyeing for the benefit of the members and the promotion of public awareness in such craftsmanship. Meetings are held at the Farm on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays from 10am February to December inclusive.  Their events diary for 2018 is as follows:

Saturday 4th August - Embellish Your Felted Picture and Clear up your Snags!  No charge

Saturday 1st September - Techniques for preparing and spinning long & short staples.  Marilyn Rowlatt & Wendy Parsons, Cost £5

Saturday 6th October - Blending Board, Hackle & Diz - make your own sliver to spin.  Mkiru Onyechi & Marianne Larcombe, Cost £5

Saturday 3rd November - Annual General Meeting Exhibition of Felted Pictures

Saturday 1st December - Christmas Craft, Bring a Plate, No Charge

Leto & Ariadne Craft showcase

Craft showcaseLeto & Ariadne is the studio label of Nick Ozanne, a handweaver working on hand operated wooden looms. All parts of the process are carried out by hand in the studio, from the initial design and preparation of the warp, through to the final washing and hand finishing of the fabrics.
