FEBRUARY

Join us for February Half-term fun & frolics! (Saturday 17th February - Sunday 25th February)

10.00 Farm Opens
10.30 - 12.30 Cuddle Corner - enjoy a cwtch with one of our smaller animals, good for the soul!
11.30 Milking Demonstration - pop along to our milking demonstration and learn all about how we get milk and all the wonderful things we can do with it!
12.00 Tractor & Trailer Ride - hop aboard!
12.30 - 1.30 Goat Play - our gorgeous and cheeky goats just love to play! Come and join them for some good old fashioned fun!
2.00 Tractor & Trailer Ride - hop aboard!
2.30 Greet & Groom - help us give our lovely equines some TLC and a spruce up!
3.00 - 4.30 Cuddle Corner - enjoy a cwtch with one of our smaller animals, good for the soul!
3.30 Candling & Handling (must book on arrival) - an amazing activity where your child can learn all about the lifecycle of chicks in the eggshell and get to see the chick inside the egg too! After which there is the opportunity to hold one of our Spring chicks and meet them up close! 
4.00 Tractor & Trailer Ride - hop aboard!
4.30 Animal Teatime - join us as we dish out a tasty treat to some of our animals
5.00 Farm closes - time for the animals to hit the hay after a busy day!

MARCH

Sunday 11th March - An Afternoon in the Lambing Shed - Join us for this AMAZING opportunity to be in with some very special Mums of our own on Mothering Sunday. Join our ewes during lambing and enjoy two hours with our brilliant Farmer Jack... get hands on with newborn lambs, tagging and general lambing husbandry and if you're extremely lucky, you may even witness a lamb being born! 

An IDEAL gift for Mothers Day, giving an experience to remember forever!

Due to the nature of this activity, numbers are extremely limited and participants must be AT LEAST 16 years old. Cost is £40 per person.

Sunday 11th March - MOTHERING SUNDAY - we don't know about you but we don't know where we'd be without our darling Mums!  As a thank you to Mums everywhere we welcome Mums and Grandmothers to a visit on us on this special day.

Why not treat Mum to a delicious Mothers Day Afternoon Tea and try our special Mothering Sunday Trail and learn all about the lovely Mums right here on the Farm?!

Sunday 18th March - Taster Session of Spinning, Weaving & Dying
Join the terrifically talented team from the Gwent Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers and have a go at all 3 crafts - Spinning, Weaving & Dying! No previous experience needed! Just £20 per person...suitable from age 16 (or younger if attending with adult)

APRIL 

Saturday 14th April - Junior Farmer for a Day - Suitable for age 4-8 (Guardian to attend)

EASTER  HOLIDAYS

Saturday 31st March - Sunday 15th April - even more farm fun to be had in the school holidays!  Full Whats On will be posted on here nearer the time

MAY BANK HOLIDAY 

May 7th - Hope Rescue Dog Show
We are delighted to be welcoming the wonderful folk from Hope Rescue who will be hosting one of their fantastic Fun Dog Shows here on May Bank Holiday Monday. There will be 12 different categories your dog can enter, culminating in Best in Show. The judges will select four winners in each category who will get a rosette and a goody bag and Best in Show will also win a bag of Burns Pet Nutrition Dog food. They are also hoping to have a 'Doggy Dash' as part of the day with prizes for the fastest large and small dog! Registration between 11am and 12noon (you can also register after 12) First Class starts at 12noon. Please note, normal admission charge to the farm applies (£6.50 per adult, £5.40 and £23.50 for families 2 adults and up to 3 children) and there is a small charge for each class you choose to enter.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS - Loads of fun to be had all day, every day of the summer holidays and keep an eye out for our Wonderful Wednesdays of Summer which will have a different theme each week!

SEPTEMBER

Saturday 1st September - Junior Farmer for a Day - Suitable for age 4-8 (Guardian to attend)

Sunday 9th September - FAMILY FUNDAY/THE GREENMEADOW SHOW featuring the HORTICULTURAL & CRAFT SHOW

A fantastic Family day out for all.  Our annual craft and horticultural show is a great day to be involved in and you can enter your own exhibits to win cash prizes!  Even if you are not entering anything into the show, it's still a great day to come along and have some good old fashioned fun!  And the best bit?  Half price admission!  What's not to love? 

OCTOBER

Saturday 27th October - Farmer for a Day (suitable age 8 - 14)

AUTUMN HALF TERM FUN

Saturday 27th October - Sunday 4th November - Halloween and Half term fun!

Wednesday 31st October - 10am - 3.30pm - Halloween Fun for Little Ones - spooky fun for those who do not want too much of a scare!

Wednesday 31st October - Halloween Spooktakular - Gates open at 6pm - prepare for the scare!!  Tickets can be bought in advance

December 2018

Sunday 16th December - Junior Farmer for a Day (age 4-8, guardian must attend)
Sunday 23rd December - Farmer for a Day (age 8 - 14)

Christmas at the Farm...our favourite visitor, Father Christmas will be taking residence in his cosy farm grotto and will be looking forward to meeting and greeting you on the following dates between 10am and 4pm:

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd
Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th (Reindeer flying in on the 9th)
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th (Reindeer flying in on the 16th)
Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd (Reindeer flying in on the 23rd)

Father Christmas will also be with us for our Twinkley Twilight Christmas Celebration evening on Tuesday 11th December between 4pm and 8pm

Baby & Toddler Tuesdays

Every Tuesday from February to November is  Baby & Toddler day - targeted at infants and pre school children with an array of additional exciting activities.  They will recommence on Tuesday 7th February 2017 - please check the Baby & Toddler Tuesday page of this website for updates. Gwent Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers

The object of the Guild is for the preservation & improvement of craftmanship in hand weaving, spinning & dyeing for the benefit of the members and the promotion of public awareness in such craftsmanship. Meetings are held at the Farm on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays from 10am February to December inclusive.  Their events diary for 2018 is as follows:

Saturday 3rd March - 'New Ways with Shawls - shape & texture' A knit-along with Mandy Smith

Saturday 2nd June - Eco-printing - Caroline Bell, Cost £10 (spaces limited, 10.30 - 4.30)  Caroline is a textile artist whose inspiration comes from nature.  She will be demonstrating a way of applying natural dyes to silk.  The process, called 'eco-printing,' involves applying heat and moisture to fabric combined with plant material.

Saturday 7th July - Wet-felted Pictures Chris Waite, Cost £5

Saturday 4th August - Embellish Your Felted Picture and Clear up your Snags!  No charge

Saturday 1st September - Techniques for preparing and spinning long & short staples.  Marilyn Rowlatt & Wendy Parsons, Cost £5

Saturday 6th October - Blending Board, Hackle & Diz - make your own sliver to spin.  Mkiru Onyechi & Marianne Larcombe, Cost £5

Saturday 3rd November - Annual General Meeting Exhibition of Felted Pictures

Saturday 1st December - Christmas Craft, Bring a Plate, No Charge
