Calendar of Events


Sunday 11th June - OPEN FARM SUNDAY 

10.30 - 12.30 - Cuddle Corner - come and have a cwtch with some of our smaller animals

11.00 - Milking Demonstration - see our beautiful Friesian cow Dipsy being milked and learn about milk production and the dairy industry

11.30 Chicken breakfast time and egg collecting - say good morning to our gorgeous gals as we give them some tasty treats and see if they have any for us!

12.00 - Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride

12.30 - Pig Washing - not an everyday activity on most farms but essential in the show season. Come and get stuck in with the shampoo!

13.00-16.00 - Craft - if you're ready to sit down and put your creative skills to use, grab a seat and make something to take home and remind you of your visit!

13.30  Discover Greenmeadow Community Farm - our Farm Director will meet  you in the Dairy and then it is over to you as to how this session pans out. Perhaps you would like a tour or just chance to ask questions - what have you always wanted to know about your local Community Farm?

14.00 - 16.00 Meet the Beekeeper—Jeff can tell you all about bees, hives and our plans for beekeeping at Greenmeadow

14.00 - Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride

14.30 - Pig Racing - Come along and cheer as loud as you can for your favourite!

15.00-16.30 - Cuddle Corner - come and have a cwtch with some of our smaller animals

15.00-15.30 - Mini Beast Hunt - release your inner explorer, how many mini beasts can you find in the nooks and crannies of the Farm? (Drop in session)

15.30 Orchard Exploration - come for a guided tour of our orchard and help us complete a pollinator survey

16.00 - Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer Ride

16.30 - It’s Teatime! Which of our animals will be getting a special treat today? Find out and help the farmers dish it up!

Try our Open Farm Sunday trail by collecting a trail sheet at the Shop and attempting to find the answers around site.

Sunday 18th June - Father's Day - welcoming all Dads on their special day!  Treat Dad to a day at the farm, free entry for Dads ON THIS DAY ONLY

Loads of fun to be had all day every day of the summer holidays and keep an eye out for our Wonderful Wednesdays of Summer which will have a different theme each week:

A fantastic Family day out for all.  Our annual craft and horticultural show is a great day to be involved in and you can enter your own exhibits to win cash prizes!  Even if you are not entering anything into the show, it's still a great day to come along and have some good old fashioned fun!  And the best bit?  Half price admission!  What's not to love?

A magical time of year at the Farm when our favourite visitor takes up residence in his cosy farm grotto.  Father Christmas will be welcoming school groups & prebooked groups of 10 or more from Monday 27th November - please call for details (01633 647662)

His visiting hours for general visitors are 10am - 4pm on the following days:

We are delighted to welcome back the Lylac Ridge Reindeer on Sundays 10th & 17th & Saturday 23rd

MOTHERING SUNDAY - we don't know about you but we don't know where we'd be without our darling Mums!  As a thank you to Mums everywhere we welcome Mums and Grandmothers to a visit on us on this special day.

Baby & Toddler Tuesdays

Every Tuesday from February to November is  Baby & Toddler day - targeted at infants and pre school children with an array of additional exciting activities.  They will recommence on Tuesday 7th February 2017 - please check the Baby & Toddler Tuesday page of this website for updates. You can also 'Like' our Baby & Toddler Tuesdays Facebook page.

Gwent Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers

The object of the Guild is for the preservation & improvement of craftmanship in hand weaving, spinning & dyeing for the benefit of the members and the promotion of public awareness in such craftsmanship. Meetings are held at the Farm on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays from 10am February to December inclusive.  Their events diary for 2017 will be advertised soon!

Happy Hands Club at Pontypool Active Living Centre

Happy Hands classes are suitable for parents or carers to bring babies and children from newborn to 4 years of age. We have lots of fun singing, dancing, with sensory play such as bubbles and parachutes and lots more.
