Greenmeadow Community Farm

Summer 2018

Summer - Piglets Suckling

Summer is a great time to visit the Farm!  The sun is shining, the birds are singing and there is an abundance of wildlife to discover. It’s also time for the sheep to lose their winter woollies as they are sheared ready for the warm weather.

Why do Ladybirds Have Spots?

Do snails have noses? How many worms are underground? What is the lifecycle of a ladybird? How do worms move? Just some of the questions that can be answered in our minibeast hunt activity. Why not join us to celebrate Wales Biodiversity Week (Monday 3rd - Friday 7th June)  We'll be celebrating for the whole month of June!  Come and discover where snails live, how worms move and if they can sense danger. Minibeast hunting, Worm Survey and Pond dipping are just some of the additional activities on offer throughout the Summer months.

Paws, Claws & Whiskers (and fleece!)

Sharp claws, soft fur and twitching whiskers! What’s your favourite animal? We have a wide variety of animals, big and small to choose from, ranging from fluffy rabbits, feathery friends and the more unusual scaly lizards. There’s no better place to find out what your class favourite is than down on the Farm!

Why not enhance your visit with one of our additional activities such as “Exotic Encounters” or “Meet the Animals” A great hands on opportunity to learn more about some of our more unusual animals and farmyard favourites.

*Special Offer*

For the week starting Monday 21st May, we offer an all-inclusive price on school visits of just £5.50 (excluding vat) per person (with 1 adult free for every 10 children) This includes our daily milking demonstration, your own tractor and trailer ride PLUS some Sheepy shenanigans in our interactive Shearing demonstration.
