A Gentle Touch Holistic Therapies

Reiki

Reiki is a complete system of natural healing and growth and is a Japanese word meaning ‘Universal Life Energy’. ‘Rei’ meaning universal life and ‘Ki’ meaning energy.

The therapist who has received attunements has their body’s energy channels opened up in a way that connects them to the universes limitless source of ki. This person now has access to life’s energy for their own healing and for the healing of others. When the Reiki practitioner channels this life energy through their hands to the recipient, it activates the body’s natural ability to heal itself, both physically and emotionally.

How will it help me?

The energy goes to the deepest level of the persons being, where illnesses have their origin, working where the recipient needs it most. It releases blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and works to create a state of balance. It also works on an emotional level, reinforcing the recipients’ ability to take responsibility for their life and helps to make necessary changes in attitude and lifestyle to promote a happier and healthier life.

What can I expect?

During this very relaxing therapy you may feel the therapists hands gently on the chakras of your body and at times just feel the heat that the hands are generating. Many people fall asleep, only disturbed when they are asked to turn over. It is an incredibly relaxing and stress relieving therapy, calming the emotions, balancing the body as the breathing slows down to a contented state. For those that are uncomfortable on a therapy couch, treatments can be done equally effectively with the client in a chair.

Animals

Animals are very responsive to Reiki, being trusting by nature they are open to what they know is good for them. Their bodies respond much in the same way as humans, the blood pressure is reduced, breathing becomes slow and regular, releasing stress and pain.

N.B. With animals under veterinary care, please discuss your intentions with your vet prior to making an appointment for this therapy.
