Our Pre School Group - 3 to 5 years

The preschool group follow the Foundation Phase, providing them with as much fun as possible whilst learning through their play and games, supported by a caring team of dedicated child carers.

Our very active Pre-School group cares for children from 3 to 5 years, and are based on the lower floor of the building along side the toddler group.

The group is run by Clare Farrell and her assistant Jodie, who plan a busy day of learning and fun based around the Foundation Phase.

Each term a new theme is planned which is incorporated throughout the Nursery. The term and daily planning activities are regularly updated and displayed in the hall for parents to see. Regular parents evenings are planned and well attended for parents to chat to the staff and see their child's development through the work they produce and photographs. Parents are also welcome to chat on a daily basis to discuss anything they wish to or see the children's art work on the walls.

As Registered Providers for Torfaen Eduaction we provide the same level of education you would expect from any state Nursery and have the same inspections to ensure the quality. Another part of the pre school room The children have a break at 9.30am of toast, milk and fruit during their circle time where they all discuss things important to them which aids confidence and social speaking. At 12.30pm the children have a fresh home cooked lunch and 3.30pm all the Nursery come together for afternoon snack of sandwiches, fruit, drinks and a varying array of foods.

The Nursery day is well planned to allow the children plenty of time for rest and free play as well as quiet areas for the children to go to if they need a break any time through the day.

Picture showing our snug where the children can have a rest and read lots of books The children have the use of many rooms through the day such as the Pre-school play room, snug, soft play room, imagination room, construction room, art and dining room and the garden. The children often visit Pontypool Park, Pontypool Library and the town centre which we are lucky to have on our doorstep, for an array of learning activities, treasure and nature hunts and fun!
